Who we are

At Adlib, we are redefining how the world manages and leverages unstructured information. As the global leader in Advanced Rendering technology, Adlib helps organizations in the Energy, Life Sciences, Insurance and Banking sectors, among others, enhance content-centric processes by unlocking the value in unstructured data.

Reporting to Matt Jones, our new QA Engineer will be part of an elite team focused on improving our products and processes. This is an opportunity to balance creativity with troubleshooting; design with solution. We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who’s passionate about identifying problems and creating solutions - all with our clients’ best interest in mind.

Who you are

You are meticulous and a critical thinker QA Engineer. Far from a heads-down coder you are a team player with a commitment to collaboration. You have outstanding communication skills that empower you to gather and share information to effectively innovate solutions to complex problems. A bit of a detective, you’ve never met a challenge you couldn’t overcome by breaking it down and rebuilding it. You don’t give up easily and you know how to form alliances for the greater good. (These skills will also come in handy during our pizza and Pandemic social nights!)

This is a QA Assurance Engineer role for someone who is ambitious and wants to grow their career.  The career path for this role at Adlib could lead to DevOps, BA work in product or upwards into a team lead role.

Our new Quality Assurance Engineer will:

  • Design tests. You will design, execute and analyze comprehensive test plans for a complex, enterprise software system. You will recommend design improvements or corrections to developers throughout the development process.
  • Review requirements. You will analyze the product design and functionality to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous and verifiable.
  • Run tests. You will use our in-house developed automation tools as well as Selenium, Hyper V and Microsoft System Center to develop, maintain, execute test programs and automate regression tests.
  • Perform exploratory testing. You will troubleshoot issues in pre and post-production release scenarios.
  • Build relationships. You will work closely with Developers, BAs, Product Owners, stakeholders and at times with customers to gain an in-depth understanding of the technical roadmap, the requirements and the issues.
  • Architect solutions. Engage with the product teams and developers on your team to design, develop and implement custom applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate. You will be the voice of the customer within Adlib to provide feedback on product feature improvements and functionality, contributing insights to shape the future product development.

Our new Quality Assurance Engineer has:

  • The education. You have a university degree in Computer Science.
  • The personality. You are a confident problem-solver who approaches issues from unique angles. You are meticulous, organized and analytical.
  • The innovation. You are proactive and can provide creative, quick - and reliable - solutions to complex problems.
  • The testing experience. You have hands-on expertise:
    • Testing enterprise systems.
    • Developing in-house automation tests and using off-the-shelf applications.
  • The tools. You have used a variety of development and test automation tools such as for web-based and cloud environments. You are comfortable using Selenium and working on a Windows-based platform. You have experience with some of the following:
    • Microsoft Test Manager, Load Runner, SilkTest or other software test applications.
    • PDF specification and related technologies.
    • .Net technologies including C#, C++
    • Java or other scripting languages.
    • XML schema (DTD and/or XSD).
    • MS SQL Server or Oracle database management systems.
  • Best practices. You have robust broad and deep knowledge of QA methodologies. You want to contribute to improving product quality and internal processes.
  • The interpersonal and communication skills. You have exceptional written and oral communication skills. You have experience working directly with customers and internal BAs to understand requirements in a fast paced environment.
